K Consulting - Procurement and operations consultants

Case studies

Dalkia are a large outsourced Facilities Management and Energy services company, employing approximately 3,500 staff in the UK and have an annual turnover of approximately £400 million. Prior to engaging with K Consulting, the client had identified potential areas for improvement, but realised they required external support to deliver the project.

The project delivered over £2 million in savings and creating a more vibrant working culture and mindset. Furthermore, K Consulting continued to support Dalkia by defining and implementing changes required to the processes, organisation and information systems, in order that the new approaches used to deliver this initial result became standard practice. The work led to the client being awarded the CIPS Excellence in Procurement Policies & Procedures Award.

A leading foodservice organisation with £17m of addressable temporary labour spend had a lack of visibility on regional and local price differences & margins with a large number of uncontrolled suppliers. There was a fundamental requirement to challenge the current method of sourcing, whilst recognising the quality, skill and service requirements of the organisation.

Peterborough City Council is a unitary authority providing services for a local population of approximately 165,000 people. In 2006 the authority embarked on a wide ranging and ambitious transformation process to increase the quality of services provided to local residents. K Consulting’s work looked at areas of spend amounting to approximately 36.5million per year and identified a savings potential of around £2million. A year later they had delivered annualised savings of over £2.8 million.
